Posted on: March 23rd, 2016   Topic: Training

The OSA is pleased to announce we will hold our New Sheriff’s Academy May 9th-13th in Edmond.  The New Sheriff’s Academy is a wonderful training opportunity for our counties’ Chief Deputies, Undersheriffs, and newly elected Sheriffs.

Topics to be covered this year include: Sheriffs’ sales, civil process, tax warrants, budgets, health care in the jail, Sheriffs’ budget, purchasing procedures, civil liability, at-will employment, Oklahoma state auditor, law enforcement & the media, PREA audits, jail liability, leadership values, and highway safety/Below 100.  We are looking forward to these subjects and learning from the excellent instructors the Oklahoma Sheriffs’ Association has chosen to teach the courses.

If you are an interested Sheriff, Undersheriff, or Chief Deputy, we encourage you to register for this training opportunity as spaces are limited.  More information, including registration forms, can be found here.
