About Sheriff Damon Devereaux

Sheriff Devereaux is a graduate of Guthrie High School and a lifelong resident of Logan County.

Sheriff Devereaux started his Law Enforcement career as a Reserve Police Officer at the age of 21. Within a few months, a full-time position was offered and Sheriff Devereaux accepted. Sheriff Devereaux is a graduate of CLEET class C91B6.

Sheriff Devereaux was promoted thru the ranks and became the Interim Chief of Police in 2003. In 2004, he was offered and accepted the Chief of Police position. In 2014 Sheriff Devereaux retired from the Guthrie Police Department and began a career in private security. In 2016 Sheriff Devereaux ran and was elected as the new Logan County Sheriff.

Sheriff Devereaux has received over 1,700 hours of continuing education in his field. He is a certified instructor and has received his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate.

Sheriff Devereaux has received several notable honors during his tenure: 2 Silver Medals of Valor, Meritorious Service Award, was selected as Police Officer of the Year by his agency and in 2018 Sheriff Devereaux received the high honor of Sheriff of the Year by the Oklahoma Sheriff’s Association.

Sheriff Devereaux is married to April and together they have 6 children and 9 grandchildren.
