Basic Jail Training

Basic Jail Training

Posted on: March 20th, 2016   Topic: Training

The Oklahoma Sheriffs’ Association has started scheduling classes for Basic Jail Training for 2016. Our Basic Jail Training courses are led by Kevin McCullough who is a Law Enforcement Specialist with OMAG.

These classes have been accredited by the Council on Law Enforcement Education & Training for 16 hours of mandatory, continuing-education credit. The training also meets the minimum for Jail Standards’ accreditation by the Oklahoma Health Department Jail Inspections Division. Our Basic Jail Training courses are a great opportunity to train new Detention Officers or Jail Administrators who dutifully work for our county jails.

Currently, we have two Basic Jail Training courses scheduled for the month of April. On April 12th & 13th we will have a class taught in Sequoyah County; and on April 25th & 26th we will have a course held in Woodward County. More information on these courses, including registration forms, can be found here.

Additionally, if any counties are interested in hosting a Basic Jail Training course, please don’t hesitate to contact our office at the Oklahoma Sheriffs’ Association.
