Start by Believing is a public awareness campaign designed by End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI) to change the way we respond to rape and sexual assault in our communities. The Oklahoma Sheriffs’ Association has banded together with the Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police, the District Attorney’s Council, and the Department of Health, among others, to help bring this campaign to Oklahoma. Our Association will be attending meetings in support of this initiative and we will be sharing information regarding it with our members in the near future.
