SUMMARY: The Oklahoma Sheriffs’ Association’s mission to enhance the office of Sheriff is committed to meeting Sheriffs and Deputy training needs across the state. OSA desires a training manager that can organize, plan, and execute training classes for Sheriffs, administration personnel, deputies, and detention officers. The position offices in Edmond Oklahoma but requires travel around the state and some out of state travel to national conferences. The positions Primary function is that of Training Director.  However, performs various functions related to the administration and operation of the Oklahoma Sheriff’s Association as directed by the Executive Director.

 

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

  1. Primary responsibility providing training for all Oklahoma Sheriff’s Office’s state-wide.
  2. Design training programs and curriculum to be delivered in Edmond all six regions.
  3. Identify and contact quality instructors for presentations.
  4. Create training schedules and organize training session.
  5. Research and evaluate training programs and materials.
  6. Determine and order needed training supplies.
  7. Attend regional Sheriff’s meetings to receive input from attendees on training needs.
  8. Assist the Director in preparing for and attend monthly Board Meetings.
  9. Assist the Director in preparing for and presenting an annual Conference.
  10. Performs other duties or functions as required or requested by the Director.

 REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of human resources education training and development strategies. Skill in successful communicating to large groups in class room settings. Ability to research and design applicable lesson plans creating usable curriculum created for Sheriff’s Office operations. Ability to drive extensively around the state. Recognized instructor by CLEET and have county law enforcement experience, field or detention a must.

BENEFITS

Salary $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year based off experience, plus stipend benefits. 125K plan.  Paid Vacation, Sick Leave and State Holidays
