The Custer County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a Full Time Jail Administrator.
Job Summary:
The Jail Administrator is responsible to plan, organize, implement, operations of the jail. The Jail Administrator shall assign and direct subordinates, ensuring policy, rules, regulations, orders, procedures and directives are enforced and implemented. The Jail Administrator shall make independent recommendations in the hiring, promotion, transfer, discipline, or discharge of Sheriff’s Office employees in accordance with the employee policy and procedure manual. The Jail Administrator is directly accountable to the Sheriff and Undersheriff for the implementation of all of the Sheriff’s orders and direction concerning the operation.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum 2 yr Detention Experience
* We are a drug-free work place…Must pass a pre-employment drug
screening.
*Must pass a criminal background check with no prior felony convictions
(some misdemeanors will be disqualifying)
*High school diploma or GED
*Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
*Must have adequate typing and computer skills
*Prior experience in a Detention setting is given preference, but OJT is a
possibility for the right candidate.
