CLEET Accreditation Process Consultant

SUMMARY:

This is a contract position for an Ada, Oklahoma location. The purpose of this position is to advise on the national accreditation processes for the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training-CLEET, Basic Peace Officer Academy and to ensure continued compliance with accreditation and recognition standards to achieve and maintain accreditation and recognition status. This will be accomplished by planning, coordinating, and managing accreditation and recognition activities, projects, and processes; gathering and analyzing data; monitoring and measuring adherence to standards; resolving non-compliance issues and findings; updating and maintaining policies and procedures; completing and submitting required reports and forms; review and updating curriculum and standards, and preparing and maintaining appropriate reports, and files. This position requires a high degree of leadership, interpersonal, and management skills.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Identifies, verifies, and reconciles compliance with established law enforcement training academy standards.
  • Reviews standards and ensures CLEET remains in compliance and makes changes to any noted deficiencies through policy, training, or other administrative measures.
  • Develops, writes, reviews, revises, and maintains a standard format for policies, curriculum, and forms to ensure compliance with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies / CALEA Training Academy Standards.
  • Recommends changes in policies and procedures when indicated by CALEA Training Academy standards updates, changes, or modifications.
  • Maintains accreditation and recognition files.
  • Conducts regular reviews of CLEET policy and procedure manuals and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with all current legislative mandates, judicial rulings, CALEA and state accreditation / recognition programs.
  • Coordinates CALEA Training Academy Accreditation site-based assessments, annual reviews, and inspections.
  • Prepares and submits required accreditation reports and documentation to CALEA.
  • Acts as a liaison between administration, other department employees, and outside agencies in all accreditation and recognition efforts.
  • Meets regularly with agency staff on accreditation, curriculum and recognition compliance.
  • Directs the Training Academy’s accreditation team to ensure proper maintenance of standard compliance.
  • Provides accreditation and recognition related training to all personnel, and Prepares all divisions for initial and re-accreditation and re-recognition
  • Compiles all proofs of compliance with the law enforcement training academy accreditation process.
  • Writes/edits a variety of correspondence, reports, forms, and other materials related to the accreditation process.
  • Distributes and prepares personnel, general, and special orders as assigned by the Assistant Director.
  • Participates in CALEA conferences, support networks, and coordinates mock assessments.
  • Complies with and enforces confidentiality standards as set by statute, rule, policy, directive, or procedure regarding documents and data possessed or maintained by CLEET.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum of three (3) years-experience in accreditation or recognition programs through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST), or other related State Association Best Practices Recognition Programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft products.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding all related data and records.
  • Must be able to work independently and make management level decisions.
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
  • Law Enforcement Experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

 

The pay for the position is 55,000-80,000 depending on the experience.
